OVERVIEW
The Ennis International Fantastic Film Fest (EnnisFest) is the FIRST film festival in the ‘Fantastic’ Genre in Ireland. The ‘fantastic’ genre covers, Horror, Fantasy, Suspense and Sci Fi films. The festival will take place in Ennis from 28th-30th October 2022 with a programme of short films, feature films, networking events, workshops and special events. The festival is recruiting for a Festival Programmer with responsibility for the creative programming of the festival.

FESTIVAL PROGRAMMER
The Festival Programmer will build the festival programme and with the festival producer deliver the film festival programme. This role will work alongside other festival staff in coordinating and delivery of the film festival programme. 

The Festival Programmer will:

  • Programme all film screenings and events in line with festival aims and objectives.
  • Manage all aspects of the festival submissions. View films, select films and take part in the final selection process including scheduling support.
  • Assist in providing the screener and programme team with viewing links, co-ordinate a jury panel and manage reviews and scoring.
  • Liaise with distributors & film producers and filmmakers in sourcing films for screening.
  • Correspond with film makers, producer, directors and distributers regarding film submissions.
  • Update festival spreadsheets and database
  • Coordinate with cinema & venues hosting the festival events and maintain communication re film file formats and film delivery.
  • Provide copy for the marketing department with synopsis, images and running times
  • Engage with educational stakeholders, schools & colleges.
  • Introduce and take part in networking events and panel discussions

The Festival Programmer will:

  • Have previous film festival programming experience and an interest in the ‘fantastic’ genre, horror, suspense, sci-fi and fantasy.
  • Have excellent communication skills and an ability to work in a team environment
  • Have the ability to view and shortlist film submissions to a deadline
  • Understand the film festival and film industry environment and the ability to engage with filmmakers and film industry colleagues
  • Understand the need for diversity and inclusion in the film programme, engaging with all audiences.
  • Have considerable experience and knowledge of the film industry. 

This is a part time role from August 2022 to October 2022. Remote working is possible with some onsite meetings. The Festival Programmer will need to be on site for the week of the festival. Their fee will comprise a daily rate based on 1-2 days per week over three months.
